My current life quote!

Welcome to my blog! The name Stripes & Arrows came from two silly obsessions of mine.  I love black & white stripes and I love arrows! Like, anything that is black & white striped or has arrows on it, I have to have.  I'm pretty sure it looks like I'm wearing the same things all the time but you'd be surprised at how many different styles of tops & dresses there are out there in black & white stripes!  I love arrows & even have an arrow tattoo on my wrist.  I saw this quote once & it stuck with me: An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward.  When life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means it's going to launch you into something great.  So just focus and keep aiming.

I am a 4th grade Math & Science Teacher & I was just recently awarded Teacher of the Year at my school! I was & still am so honored & excited about it!  I love my job!  I love getting to teach my students new things.  I love challenging them & pushing them to reach their potential. It sounds cliche, but it's so true.  Teaching is such a rewarding profession. It can definitely be hard & it has its stressful moments, but I know I am called to be a teacher.  When you're called to do something, you're still able to find joy in it. I wake up every morning exctied to go to work.  I love the school I work in & I love my team.  My team has been with me through a lot of things in the last few years & they've become like my family.  I'm blessed to be able to say I truly do love them.

I am also Co-Owner & Buyer for an online shop called Fancy Free. My mom, two sisters & I own the shop together. We are only a couple days away from our 2-year anniversary & have been blessed with success since we started!  Before I was a teacher, I thought my career would be in fashion because I love all things fashion.  I have my degree in Fashion Merchandising so it has been really helpful toward our business.  We all have our own strengths & developed our roles from them, so things run really smoothly, which is always nice!

My family is really important to me.  I love my family & have the cutest nieces & nephews! I am absolutely obsessed with all 8 of them! I have the best family a girl could ask for.  They are literally my best friends.  I'm really fortunate to have a family that loves each other.  My parents raised our family centered around Jesus & His Word.  They not only taught us how to seek the Lord, but showed us what that looks like in their own lives & marriage.  They have been such great examples in my life!

Most importantly, I live my life daily seeking the Lord in all things.  Jesus Christ is my Friend, my Comforter, & my Saviour.  He's who I seek to please & honor.  I've learned that by doing that, everything else falls into place.  I try to live my life in a way that brings glory to Him & I hope that's obvious on my blog.  Whether it's talking about fashion, fitness, funny stories, teaching, or my faith, I hope it inspires & encourages you.
